Winter in Norway

I received the below picture from a friend who is celebrating this Christmas in Norway. Isn't that wonderful. Surely a white Christmas!

Juletrefest

The Norwegian Christmas Party was held on 13 December at Toorak House. Crowds of children and parents attended joining in dancing around the Christmas tree. Carols were sung in both Norwegian and English, and of course 'Julenissen' paid us all a visit.

Scandinavian Christmas Bazaar

The Scandinavian Christmas Bazaar was held at Toorak House 5th and 6th December with great success. Estimations are that 7-8000 visitors were subjected to Scandinavian curio, culture and events this weekend. Friends of Norway attended of course sponsored by Jarlsberg (the famous Norwegian cheese maker) and joined by Helly Hansen. Our 'big' Jarlsberg cheese raffle was a 'big' success. The wheel was won by Shirley Møller (ticket holder orange B25) pictured with President Tietse Stelma and Treasurer Øystein Berg. Welcome back next year...
